Anti-Kremlin Russian armed groups say they have launched an attack on a village in western Russia, along the border with Ukraine.

The Kursk region's governor confirmed fighting took place, saying that the pro-Kyiv volunteers made no breakthrough. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow's forces managed to repel the attack.

A fuel depot in the western Russian city of Oryol was hit by a drone strike, causing a fire, the regional governor said early Tuesday. It was one of several Ukrainian attacks overnight.

Kharkiv region

In the northeast Ukrainian Kharkiv region, an overnight Russian strike injured five people, including a three-year old child.

Russia and Ukraine said they downed dozens of drones overnight, as both launched overnight attacks on each other's targets behind the stretched frontlines.

Drones -- both attack craft packed with explosives and those with advanced cameras for reconnaissance -- have been used extensively throughout the two-year war.

Ukraine's air force said Russia fired 37 Iranian-style "Shahed" kamikaze drones and three missiles at its territory overnight.

"As a result of combat operations, 33 'Shaheds' were shot down in the Kirovograd, Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions," it said in a post on Telegram.

Lost HIMARS

The Defense Forces of Ukraine lost a HIMARS missile system in the Donetsk area. During the two years of the war, the Russian army managed to destroy the Ukrainian M142 HIMARS rocket launcher system for the first time. The video of the moment on March 5 was published by the Russian Z-channels.

The HIMARS was hit southeast of the village of Mykonorivky in Donbas. A secondary detonation at the point of impact indicates that it was unfortunately not a mock-up. The fate of the crew members is currently unknown.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine does not comment on what happened. This incident was the first visually confirmed loss of HIMARS.

The Russians assure that the Iskander tactical complex struck the installation. However, there is currently no confirmation of this information.
